Answers to common questions

The NBCRNA (National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists) requires all CRNAs to complete a Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program through their MAC (Maintenance of Certification) cycle. Each MAC cycle is four years long and requires 60 Class A and 40 Class B continuing education credits, for a total of 100 credits. At the end of each cycle, you must submit documentation to NBCRNA to renew your certification. Missing this deadline or submitting incomplete records can result in a lapse of your CRNA certification.
You'll want to gather any CE certificates, conference attendance records, workshop completions, and academic transcripts you've accumulated during your current MAC cycle. These can be PDFs, screenshots, photos of physical certificates, or official transcript downloads from providers like AANA, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, or any other CE vendor. Don't worry if your records are incomplete or disorganized — that's exactly what we're here to help with. Send us whatever you have and we'll sort it out.
Most members receive their compiled transcript and CE workbook within 3–5 business days of submitting their documents. During high-volume periods (especially near MAC cycle deadlines), turnaround may be slightly longer — but we'll always communicate timelines clearly. Pro members who need NBCRNA data entry completed can expect 5–7 business days. If you're facing an urgent deadline, reach out to us directly at crnapilotce@gmail.com and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Class A credits are awarded for structured, formally recognized educational activities — such as NBCRNA-approved courses, live conferences, workshops, and didactic programs. You need a minimum of 60 Class A credits per MAC cycle.

Class B credits cover a broader range of professional development activities including self-study modules, journal article reviews, teaching activities, and certain simulation experiences. You need a minimum of 40 Class B credits per MAC cycle.

One of the most common errors CRNAs make is misclassifying credits or failing to document Class B activities entirely. Our processing validates every credit against NBCRNA's current classification guidelines.
Yes. We process CE documentation from any NBCRNA-approved CE provider, including AANA, ASA, hospital-based education departments, online CE platforms, university programs, conference providers, and simulation centers. As long as the certificate or documentation shows the credit type, credit hours, and provider information, we can process it. We're familiar with the full landscape of CRNA CE providers and will flag any documentation that may not meet NBCRNA's acceptance criteria before it causes problems at submission time.
Yes. Your documents and personal information are stored on secure, encrypted servers with restricted access. We never share your information with third parties outside of your explicit requests (such as sending transcripts to an employer for credentialing on Pro). Your records are retained for the life of your subscription, so you always have access to your complete CE history. We take the security and privacy of professional credentials seriously — your certification documentation is sensitive and we treat it that way.
We'll identify exactly how many credits you're short in each category and tell you precisely what you need to complete your cycle. We'll also flag the gap early — often with enough time to remedy it before your submission deadline. Pro members benefit from quarterly reminders specifically designed to help you stay on track throughout your 4-year cycle, reducing the risk of a last-minute crunch. If you're already short on time, we can recommend CE providers and course options to help you close the gap quickly.
Pro members provide us with secure, limited access to their NBCRNA online account. Using the compiled and validated CE records we've built for you, our team enters each continuing education activity directly into the NBCRNA system — accurate, categorized, and ready for submission. You retain full control of your account and can review everything we've entered before submitting. This eliminates the most time-consuming and error-prone step in the recertification process. You just confirm the work looks right and submit.
